Signature Style Systems ~ Certified Personal Stylist, Image & Color Consultant, True Colour Expert

🔸Do you want to be able to show up for any event in your life feeling 100% like yourself? 🔸Are you sick of wondering why the outfits that look good on other people look or feel weird on you? 🔸Do you feel like you should already know how to create your own style? Like there was a cute girl outfit class that everyone else took but you didn’t know about? You know how most women are self-conscious about how they look? I was too! Now I have a process for discovering your Style DNA so you and I can look and feel like ourselves. Style DNA is my acronym and what this podcast is all about: 🔸D) your body’s DESIGN. This includes your silhouette, inherent color palette, and many other artistic characteristics that determine what looks best on you. (Physical form) 🔸(N) your NEEDS, based on your lifestyle, what life stage you are in, your roles, what industry you’re in, where you live geographically and climate-wise. (External elements) 🔸(A) your AESTHETIC. The vision of beauty that’s unique to you. What you like, and what you don’t like, and WHY. (Internal elements) Imagine being able to walk into a roomful of people, forget about what you are wearing, and just be who you are there to be. I believe when women are seen and valued for who they truly are, we will begin to see the transformation our world so desperately needs. My dream is universal flourishing. You not feeling self-conscious is the frosting; being kind to the planet is the sprinkles. Let’s connect! Get the wardrobe building jumpstart guide, The Wardrobe Pyramid: http://eepurl.com/hsNpHH. Marie Kondo got closet editing partly right. Category based sorting works. A defined timeline works. But asking you to judge one sweater at a time was never going to get you all the way there.
Marie Kondo asks you to hold one item and wait for joy, but building your favorite outfits first is what actually reveals what belongs in your closet.
This week: what works in the joy test, and how to build a wardrobe from outfits you already love.

Getting a compliment on a color you're wearing is not the same as being seen.

Most women have at least one color in their closet that draws compliments regularly and still feels wrong somehow. Like what's being noticed isn't quite them. There's a reason for that.

Most color advice asks what looks good on you, but your personal color palette should start with who you are.

In this episode we look at why compliments aren't proof your colors are right for you, what your colors are actually communicating whether you intended it or not, and what it looks like to build a palette that starts with your personality instead of just your undertone.

The conscious closet conversation focuses heavily on where clothing comes from.
It almost never talks about what happens in the middle.
Every garment you own is moving through a lifecycle whether you engage with it or not. A garment depreciating unworn in your closet is waste just as much as a landfill is.
Locating yourself in a garment's lifecycle is the most generous thing you can do for your conscious closet and for the rest of humanity.
This episode looks at what conscious stewardship actually looks like at the beginning, middle, and end of a garment's life, and why the most generous thing you can do with a piece of clothing might be to let it go.

Most women were never taught that clothing belongs in a budget. They were taught it was the first thing to cut.
Ramit Sethi's Conscious Spending Plan treats basic clothing the same as rent and groceries: a non-negotiable cost of being a functioning human. Elevated clothing gets its own intentional category. Neither one requires an apology.
But here's what his framework doesn't tell you. A clothing budget without Style DNA clarity is still mostly guesswork. You can fund the category generously and still feel like you have nothing to wear.
Most women inherited a script that says clothing is frivolous, but Ramit Sethi's framework treats it as a line item, and your Style DNA is what makes that work.
That's what this episode is about.

Most of us were never handed a verdict on purpose. Someone just made a choice, and we made it mean something.
This episode starts with a brown gingham dress and a six-year-old who drew the wrong conclusion. It ends with a journaling prompt that may be the beginning of a thread worth pulling.
Recovering your own eye is the most effective way to finally embody your unique style.
We cover three ideas: how childhood style experiences form us, what goes wrong when outside systems arrive before self-knowledge is solid, and what it actually looks like to do the repair work as an adult.
There is also a practical note for parents on which style frameworks are appropriate at which ages, and when to wait.

Harriet McJimsey introduced style archetypes in 1963. What she built was a whole-person reading system. What the popular adaptations kept was mostly the body-typing.
Understanding your style archetypes as a whole-person reading, not a body-typing exercise, is the most effective way to develop your signature style. This episode traces the real lineage: what McJimsey actually built, how Kibbe, Kitchener, and others adapted it, and what gets restored when you come back to the original method.

Most women who resist hiring a personal stylist think the resistance is about money or confidence. It isn't. It's about a very specific fear: that you'll come out looking polished and put-together and completely unlike yourself.
In this episode I name the three real reasons that resistance shows up, why they make complete sense, and what a process looks like that starts with your wiring instead of your wardrobe.
If you've ever thought "I probably need help but I can't quite go there," this one is for you.

Most people who know the Enneagram focus on their type number. But new research suggests your survival instinct — self-preservation, social, or sexual — is actually the more useful tool for understanding your personal style.

In this episode I break down what each enneagram instinct looks like in the wardrobe, what images you're drawn to reveal about your instinct, and how I use that information when working with women on their signature style.

Mili Velikova has a video on style vs taste that's worth your time before you listen to this episode.
She names something real: what you're drawn to and what you actually wear with confidence are not always the same thing. And the gap between them is a genuine source of wardrobe frustration.
What I've noticed is that the gap almost always has a cognitive function explanation underneath it. Your four MBTI letters are a starting point. The function stack underneath them is where the answer actually lives.
That's what episode 130 is about. If you've ever loved something on the hanger and felt off in it all day, this is the missing piece.

Most people think caring about appearance conflicts with spiritual depth, but actually the body is an instrument of worship.

In this episode, I unpack three ideas that reframe beauty as devotion rather than vanity: the body as instrument of worship, what Jesus actually said about clothes, and how your personal aesthetic is something to discover rather than construct.

If you have ever felt pressure to conform to someone else's idea of what a serious or faithful woman should look like, this episode gives you a different framework entirely.
